This image holds special significance for me. It was made during one of my very first sunrise photography sessions. At the time, I accidentally underexposed every frame—a mistake that unexpectedly revealed the delicate pre-dawn colours in a way I had never seen before. That happy accident became one of the defining moments in my photographic journey and helped shape the artistic style that continues to influence my work today.

"Even at 23 years old you are still figuring life out, you may have some aspects worked out but you need to make mistakes in others. I made this image on only my second dawn with a digital camera, I accidentally under exposed every frame. However, this brought out the subtle pinks in the pre-dawn light and gave me a base to experiment with processing. This mistake became one of my greatest images and served as the foundation of my style for years to come."
